Inspire Young Composers…01 Feb

The Inspire Young Composers’ Competition is run by the BBC Proms and is in it’s twelfth year, giving young composers aged 12-18 a chance to get their music heard by a wider audience.

Entrants are invited to submit an original piece of music – no more than five minutes long – and the winning compositions are performed during the BBC Proms season and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Winners will also get to work with top composers and musicians in a series of workshops to develop the piece. Last year’s winners were commissioned to write for the Last Night of the Proms! Who knows where your commission will take you?

There are no restrictions on the type of music you can enter – only that it is written down, as someone else will perform it if you get to the final. All entrants will also receive tickets to an evening Proms event.

The closing date is May 28th.

All forms are available on this page of the BBC website.
