Thanks you to everyone who attended our 2017 Conference at Wells Cathedral School. A report will be published shortly.
Our 2018 Conference for Music Teachers will be at Eton College from 18-20th May. Please join us.

The MMA Conference is a widely respected annual gathering of professionals in music education with a comprehensive and diverse programme of some of the best speakers in the UK. Hosted by an MMA member school, the atmosphere is always friendly but professional on a weekend where contacts are made, ideas are nurtured and horizons expanded.

The choice of sessions is always comprehensive (over 26) with tailored wisdom for all areas of teaching in a school music department, from music administrators and instrumental teachers to classroom and heads of department. The Conference includes all meals and refreshments including a black tie dinner with entertainment. The conference trade fair is always a lively hub of activity with some thirty corporate members giving in-depth advice and showcasing the latest instruments, products and scores.

However, networking is one of the key reasons that members attend and the opportunity to share good practice and ideas with colleagues from a wide range of schools, organisations and corporates is invaluable.

Choose from 26 practical sessions that will fuel your creativity, develop key skills and explore technologies. Engage in forums that will highlight up to the minute policy. Create vital connections and share experiences with over 100 other teachers and gain knowledge on career development from Heads of Department.

Last year I attended for the first time and was very impressed by both the location and the event itself. As someone who is looking towards becoming a Director of Music in a few years time I found Mr Forbes really inspiring.

The Conference is always a highlight of the MMA’s year. It’s a wonderful chance for old and new friends to meet and talk about the issues in music education and the latest thinking.

Scott Price
Director of Music, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School

The MMA Conference was excellent! A really useful weekend with interesting and informative workshops sessions. I really enjoyed the Gospel workshop with Ken Burton who had us literally dancing in the aisles.
